ADAN –Application Hacks
Hi,
I’m Steph, and I recruit for Bloomberg’s EMEA headquarters in London, focusing on our Financial Solution roles.
I hope you find the information below helpful when applying to future opportunities.
No two jobsare the same, but our Entry Level and Internship interview processes are pretty consistent.
Here’s what you may experience across our Analytics and Sales, Data, Customer Support, Client Financial Services and Supply Chain roles.
Application
Your candidate journey begins by submitting an application and your most up-to-dateresume/CV through our careers page.
→ Hack: Please review the job description to gain a good understanding of the role, the requirements, the department, and Bloomberg prior
to submitting an application.
Q&A
Applicants for positions in all departments will be asked to complete questions related tothe role and Bloomberg.
→ Hack: Do your research before answering these and try to align your answers back to your authentic motivations and experience.
Try to avoid using CHAT GPT answers as these are easy to recognise, and often inaccurate.
Assessment
Applicants for the Financial Products Analytics & Sales, Data, and Customer Supportpositions will be asked to complete an online assessment
as part of the application process. The assessment will take approximately 25 minutes and will measure a variety of qualities such as cognitive ability.
→ Hack: There is no way to prepare for this, the best course of action is just to be yourself.
Pre-Recorded Video Interview
For many roles, you will be asked to complete a pre-recorded video interview where you’ll have the opportunity to express your unique personality and interests through this flexible and convenient format.
I recommend you find a quiet place with access to a computer and WiFi for 10-15minutes. You will be asked to record your answers to a series of questions about the role, your experience, and Bloomberg.
→ Hack: Although you may be facing a computer camera, try to build a rapport, look into the camera, and try not to read off of notes or the screen.
Assessment Day
Assessment Days are hosted at a Bloomberg office, typically at the location of the role you have applied for. They give you a first-hand experience of
our Bloomberg work environment and culture and enable you to see yourself here.
The schedule of the day can vary in format and length depending on the departmentand location.
What you might experience during an Assessment Day:
· Interviews with Managers, Team Leaders and/or representatives
· Skill-based assessment and group activities
· Building tour
· Job shadowing and/or job simulations
· Networking
→ Hack: Make use of the day, ask as many questions as possible and network to understand the role. Come prepared, understanding why you want to work at this company, and the role you have applied to – try not to be too generic. Be authentic, this is what sets you apart from everyone else.
