Allianz Global Investors is currently seeking a talented and highly motivated Business Analyst with a deep understanding of SAP BW to join our growing team. In this role, you will help ensure the accuracy, efficiency, and quality of our financial data. This role will be based in Frankfurt.
You will report directly to the Head of Finance Technology and work closely with stakeholders across the finance department to identify and implement data-driven solutions that support our strategic goals.
We are a diverse, collaborative, and supportive team of technologists, project managers and data analysts, and are responsible for a suite of in-house, cloud-hosted, and outsourced applications covering accounting, financial management, financial planning, reporting, BI (Business Intelligence), procurement, and much more.
What you will do
Oversee the entire data lifecycle in SAP BW:
- Extract, transform, and load data from various source systems
- Design and implement data quality checks and cleansing processes
- Monitor data flows for accuracy and completeness
Develop and maintain data models and the data warehouse:
- Analyse business requirements and translate them into technical specifications
- Design and develop data models that meet user needs and regulatory requirements
- Further optimization of the data warehouse using SAP BW best practices
Support and improve business processes and reports:
- Identify opportunities to automate manual tasks and improve data-driven decision-making
- Develop and implement reports and dashboards to provide users with actionable insights
- Support the finance team with ad-hoc data analysis and troubleshooting
Stay ahead of the curve:
- Actively support in finance transformation activities like, e.g., S/4
- Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives
- Research and evaluate new technologies and trends in data warehousing and analytics
Immediate focus areas and priorities may include:
- Streamlining and optimizing the dataflows between finance systems
- Aligning data definitions according to data governance
- Setup of a data quality control system
- Setup of a data quality monitor
What you will bring
- 5+ years of experience as a SAP BW Business Analyst or similar role
- In-depth knowledge of SAP BW and its functionalities
- Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and methodologies
- Experience with data quality management and data governance practices
- Proven ability to design and develop data models and ETL processes
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and other relevant software (e.g., Power BI)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to adapt and respond to challenging / fast-paced situations and to deal with high complexity
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in English. Additional German language skills would be advantageous
