About you and the role:
Our EMEAI Financial and Statutory Accounting Group is looking for a Financial Accountant to be located in Terneuzen, The Netherlands.
As part of an international team, you will be a financial accountant responsible for accounting matters related to the overall integrity of the legal financial accounting and financial statement preparation for legal entities in Switzerland in accordance with Swiss GAAP as well as US GAAP.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure the integrity of Financial Statements.
- Ensure timely and accurate monthly closing in US GAAP including submission for group consolidation.
- Cooperation with partners within and outside the Finance department to ensure completeness and accuracy of accounting for all entities under your responsibility.
- Preparation of annual statutory financial statements under Local GAAP.
- Ensure proper and timely application of internal control procedures, with particular reference to SOX and governance requirements.
- Maintain and apply a good level of knowledge of USGAAP and Local GAAP.
- Represent accounting on projects relating to M&A transactions and implement & maintain the accounting for various complex financial transactions as they occur.
Qualifications:
- With a professional qualification as a graduate in accounting with a Bachelor or Master degree
- You should have a sound knowledge of accounting developed during at least 3 years in an international finance environment.
- Fluency in English is required; profound knowledge of German will be an advantage.
- Knowledge of local Swiss GAAP will be considered a strong plus as will experience with ECC/SAP software.
- You should be at ease with all Microsoft Office tools and other popular software packages.
- You should be a self-starter with a demonstrated ability to work independently and within tight deadlines.
- Attention to detail, an ability to organize yourself and to set appropriate priorities are also critical.
- Proven ability to work very well in teams and to motivate team members to achieve results.
- Ability to communicate clearly.
