Aufgaben des BPA:

Demokratische Entscheidungen setzen informierte Staatsbürgerinnen und Staatsbürger voraus. Dafür arbeitet das Bundespresseamt mit seinen Beschäftigten an der Schnittstelle von Politik und Medien. Das BPA ist dabei Dreh- und Angelpunkt für Informationen der Bundesregierung: Nach außen informieren wir die Bürgerinnen und Bürger sowie die Medien über die Politik der Bundesregierung. Nach innen unterrichten wir den Bundeskanzler und die Bundesregierung über die Nachrichtenlage in Deutschland und der Welt.

Einstiegsmöglichkeiten beim BPA:

Um diese Aufgaben abzudecken, bietet das BPA ein besonders breites Spektrum unterschiedlicher Tätigkeitsfelder an: Anders als ein klassisches Ministerium suchen wir schwerpunktmäßig nicht nur neue Beschäftigte für juristisch und verwaltungsmäßig geprägte Tätigkeiten. Mindestens ebenso wichtig sind uns Bewerbungen von Menschen mit Erfahrungen im Journalismus, aus dem politischen Bereich und mit Qualifikationen aus dem IT-Bereich. Aber wir stellen jedes Jahr auch Auszubildende für die Berufe „Kauffrau beziehungsweise Kaufmann für Büromanagement“ sowie „Fachinformatikerin beziehungsweise Fachinformatiker für Systemintegration“ ein.

Tasks of the BPA:

Democratic decisions require informed citizens. To this end, the Federal Press Office and its employees work at the interface between politics and the media. The BPA is the focal point for information from the federal government: externally, we inform citizens and the media about the federal government's policies. Internally, we inform the Chancellor and the Federal Government about the news situation in Germany and the world.

Opportunities to get started at BPA:

In order to cover these tasks, the BPA offers a particularly wide range of different fields of activity: Unlike a classic ministry, we are not just looking for new employees for legal and administrative activities. At least as important to us are applications from people with experience in journalism, from the political sector and with qualifications from the IT sector. But every year we also take on trainees for the professions of “Office Management Clerk” and “IT Specialist for System Integration”.
